We’re thrilled to tell you about the Chalk Stream Challenge, created by volunteers and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It focuses on the headwaters of the Rivers Test and Itchen in Hampshire, and encourages children and young people to explore and learn about their local chalk stream. You can download activity and information packs HERE or use it to discover your own local chalk stream.

The Chalk Stream Challenge invites you to explore these unique rivers, learn why they're so special, and experience the incredible wildlife and fascinating heritage they hold.

As you work through five themed activity sections – Get to Know Your Chalk Stream, River Geography, River Life, River Fun, and Save Water at Home or School – you’ll gain all the knowledge you need to become a certified chalk stream expert!
